We empower African children and youth to thrive in today’s complex online world
The Fact Forward Digital Foundation is committed to providing digital education to children and youth from underserved communities by equipping them with the critical skills to thrive in the digital world.
As digital platforms increasingly influence how children learn and socialize, the risks that exist online, such as misinformation, exploitation, and cyberbullying, underscore the need to develop children’s critical thinking skills, protect their safety, and support their digital well-being to enable them to use technology responsibly.

Studies reveal a staggering 76% of young adults aged 14 to 24 encounter online misinformation at least once a week—an alarming 50% rise in just two years.
22.8% of children reported being exposed to age-inappropriate content at least once in the past year
1 in 3 children does not know how to use blocking or reporting tools online.

Advancing Media Literacy to Effectively Combat Mis/Disinformation, and Other Digital Dangers that Children Encounter Online
Misinformation and disinformation pose serious threats to our society. Children are particularly vulnerable because their critical thinking skills are still developing.
False information can distort children’s view of the world and lead to emotional and psychological harm. As a result, it can shape their beliefs and choices, increasing the chances of them being misled.
At Fact Forward Digital, we are developing children’s critical thinking and media literacy skills to empower them navigate the vast amounts of information they encounter and make informed decisions.

Digital wellness for children
Our wellness program helps children from a young age build a healthy relationship with technology. We make sure technology helps their social growth, not hurt it, by setting limits and encouraging activities like playing and learning away from screens. We also talk openly with parents about online safety and how technology can affect mental health.
