Setting the Scene: In this activity, the Fact Forward Team, in collaboration with teachers, entrusted students with the critical task of collecting and sorting viral claims and myths into a “Debunk Box.” The children were divided into groups of three and asked to select one claim to fact-check for its accuracy.

Exploration:Each group engaged in fact-finding discussions on how to verify the claims, utilizing guidance from teachers, the Fact Forward team, and online resources. Some students searched through Google, while others sought assistance from their teachers to verify the claim. 

Uncovering the Truth: After their research, each group presented and evaluated the viral claims, determining whether they were true or false. This process proved to be effective in encouraging students to question the sources of information. Most importantly, it promoted verification through teachers and reliable online sources while we encouraged children to ask parents for guidance.
