Our Commitment
Fact Forward Digital Foundation (FFDF) is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful environments where every child and young person can learn, participate, and thrive—both online and offline.
Protecting children is fundamental to our mission. We have zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, exploitation, neglect, violence, or harmful behaviour.
Our programmes are designed to strengthen children’s digital resilience, promote responsible digital citizenship, and help children safely navigate today’s online world.

Safe Programme Delivery
Across all our activities, we work to ensure that:
- Child safeguarding risks are identified and managed.
- Staff, consultants, volunteers, and partners understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
- Activities are age-appropriate, inclusive, and respectful.
- Personal information relating to children is handled securely and confidentially.
- Children participate voluntarily and safely.
Online Safety
As an organisation specialising in media and digital literacy, FFDF actively promotes:
- Safe and responsible internet use.
- Digital citizenship and media literacy.
- Protection from cyberbullying, online grooming, child sexual exploitation and abuse, misinformation, disinformation, and harmful online content.
- Privacy and personal data protection.
- Critical thinking and responsible engagement with digital technologies.
Working With Children
Where appropriate and required by law, we:
- Obtain informed consent from parents or legal guardians.
- Seek age-appropriate assent from children.
- Limit the collection of children’s personal information to what is necessary.
- Follow safeguarding procedures during research, training, and programme implementation.
- Ensure photographs, videos, and testimonials are collected and used only with appropriate permission.
Reporting Safeguarding Concerns
We encourage anyone who has concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child involved in our programmes to report them immediately.
All safeguarding concerns are treated seriously, handled confidentially, and managed in accordance with Kenyan law and FFDF’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to the relevant authorities or child protection agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child.
Our Responsibility
Every member of the FFDF Board, staff, volunteer team, consultant, intern, researcher, trainer, and partner is expected to uphold our safeguarding standards and contribute to creating a culture where children are protected, respected, and empowered.
