Learning Digital Safety
As more children gain access to the internet, digital safety has become an essential life skill. Yet across Africa, approximately 90% of children leave school without basic digital skills, and youth internet usage in Sub-Saharan Africa remains at just 34%, significantly below the global average of 71%.
Studies show that many children lack the practical skills needed to protect themselves online, including managing privacy settings, blocking unwanted messages, and safeguarding personal information on social networks. At the same time, only 50% of African countries include computer skills in their school curricula, compared to a global average of 85%.
Our Digital Safety program equips children with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the online world safely. Through interactive learning, students learn how to protect their privacy, recognize online threats, respond to cyberbullying, and use digital technologies responsibly. By building these skills early, we help young people become safe, confident, and responsible digital citizens prepared for an increasingly connected world.
